Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) scan

CBCT scan technology is a tremendous advancement in dentistry. It is a 3D image that provides more detail than an X-ray. You may be given a gown to wear during this procedure.

Usually, dentists use a CBCT to view a 3D image before a surgery, implant placement, and to examine bone structures. The process typically lasts a few seconds. Patients are asked to remove metal objects like jewellery before undergoing the procedure. The scan can be sent to an oral and maxillofacial radiologist for recommendations. You will not feel any pain during this exam and will be able to return to your usual activities right after.
